Kay Lamb Shannon is the professional painter and owner of Strokes of Perfection. Always a talented, an artistic and creative artist, Kay decided to take the next step and show her work professionally through this establishment with great success. Kay graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Art from Sam Houston State University. After spending more than ten years, at home working on her art when time permitted and raising a family, she was faced with being the sole supporter of her family and home. Fine-tuning her art and sewing skills over the years, Kay needed to find a way to turn her love of the arts and talent into an income-generating venture. A bit apprehensive but determined, Kay began displaying her artwork at several art shows and in various venues. At one of these shows in Dallas, it happened that someone took notice of her beautiful work.
This gentleman purchased two of her paintings, and her dream began to become reality. Her talent was quickly becoming recognized by corporate representatives and individuals alike. Soon, Kay received a call from a large home decorating corporation called Home Interiors, wishing to purchase her work. Home Interiors continued to carry her prints for several years in order to meet the demands of their clients for her work. Her work was also distributed by large print publishing companies in New York, notably Bentley House and Scafa Tornabene in California. Heaven and Earth Design also distribute her work all over the world. The artist’s most current endeavor is creating paintings to be used by SunsOut and Bits and Pieces which are jigsaw puzzle companies.
