Since her childhood Elli Milan always carried with her pieces of crayons. Her obsession with creating is still with her today. Her mother would often find the crayons melted onto the clothes after they went through the wash. Elli explains that if she does not work on her posters, prints and art every day she would feel incomplete. She grew up in Hawaii where she met her husband, John. Elli attended Savannah College of Art and Design. She then proceeded to The University of Georgia where she received her BFA from. Elli and her husband John currently share a studio at their home in Arizona. John is also a full-time artist. She attributes most of her success as an artist of posters, prints and art to her faith, her passion to paint, and the opportunity she has to share in the creative process along side her husband. John and Elli have three, beautiful daughters.
Many of Ellis’ posters, prints and art have been inspired by her life in Greece in the beautiful Mediterranean coastal city of Kavala. Her memories of Greece are reflected in the clean and bold colors and the contrasting light of her work. She loves the process of painting and the contemplative zone she experiences while painting. John and Elli have traveled extensively, and these trips have also inspired their artwork and life. Today, the couple live their dream, and they create their paintings together. Although both of them are accomplished artists, working together brings out a side of their work that neither could reach while working alone.
